By Priscilla (2nd grade)

The book Vacation Under the Volcano is an exciting book. You never know if they're going to die. They have a fun adventure. Jack and Annie meet so many different people on their adventure. Later in the book they meet a lady named Ercula. She shows them a map that they need to follow. If they do not follow what the map says or do not remember where the map told them to go something terrible will happen to the town. At the end they had a house far away from the volcano and had a nice peaceful vacation. This is in the Magic Treehouse book series.

Movie Review: Hop

By Priscilla (2nd grade)

The movie Hop is an Easter-type movie that people would like to see at Easter time. It's a good movie and a funny movie. The good part is because there is a bunny named E.B. and he is the Easter Bunny's son. E.B. wants to see the world but his father won't let him. The funny part is because there are three bunnies that are called the Pink Berets. They are trying to find E.B. and bring him back from the city after he ran away from Easter Island. There is another part that is funny when E.B. asks if Easter Bunny's have ever been to China. In E.B.'s father's imagination, he sees a lady chasing him out of her house when he tried to deliver an Easter basket. At the end, a chick was directing a sleigh while E.B. was drumming the song "I Want Candy" and he made the sleigh fly around in crazy directions.

Movie Review: Gnomeo and Juliet

By Priscilla (2nd grade)

Gnomeo and Juliet has funniness, romance, and awesomeness. It is about a girl garden statue and a boy garden statue that fall in love at third sight. In the middle of the movie this red guy statue sings, "tiene un bonito par de coconut." I would rate this movie 5 stars.

Book Review: The Bear Came Over to My House By Rick Walton (Illustrated by James Warhola)

By Priscilla (2nd grade)

The Bear Came Over to My House is a short book but a good book. It is about a bear that goes to a girl’s house and finds what he can find. He brings a swing there then he swings off. He lands in mud. He thinks he stinks so he takes a bath in the creek. He woke up a snake. He leaped across the creek. He leaped over the sheep. He landed in a yard and he broke a rake. The girl said, “Oh, dear!” The bear got a treat (strawberries). A chair got stuck on his bottom. He spelled “good night” with his treat and left.

Movie Review: Yogi Bear

By Priscilla (2nd grade)

Yogi Bear is funny because when Yogi builds a picnic basket stealer, which is a picnic table but in the middle part is a launcher, so when a picnic basket gets placed on the table, it launches forward and lands on the target tree. There’s a surprise for Yogi. So if you ever saw that movie you would think Yogi is funny, too. I would rate the movie 5 stars. Starring Dan Aykroyd, Justin Timberlake, Tom Cavanaugh, and Ana Farris. Directed by Eric Brevig.
