By Shawn (4th grade)
Vampires Suck is a comedy rated PG-13 that makes fun of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga. In Twilight, the main character Bella goes to Forks high school in Washington state and gets into a relationship with a vampire named Edward. In Vampires Suck, “Becca” also meets a vampire Edward but goes to “Sporks” High School in Washington state. In Twilight, vampires have to stay out of the sun because their skin sparkles, but in Vampires Suck when Edward’s skin is supposed to sparkle he has on shiny jewelry all over his body. Vampires are very fast and the Twilight Edward runs through woods, but the Vampires Suck Edward rides on a Segway scooter. The movie is funny and I recommend seeing it. Vampires Suck stars Jenn Proske, Matt Lanter, and Diedrich Bader. Directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer.
Recommendation: 4.5 out of 5 stars. (Mom's caution: contains rude humor, including innuendo, not present in the Twilight films.)

Book Review: Junie B. Jones and the Stupid Smelly Bus by Barbara Park
By Priscilla (2nd grade)
This book is funny because when Junie B. Jones sticks her foot up in the air to show her teacher her new shoes it is so funny and when she hides in the book shelf in the beginning of chapter six. And it is also funny when the mail man is running after Junie B. It is also funny when Junie B. sticks her head inside of the books.
Recommendation: elementary school, lower grades.

Welcome to the Perez Review Page
Thank you for visiting the Perez Review Page blog! We started this blog as a way to get the kids reading and writing more, as well also give me a new project to work on (I've been a little fidgety since finishing school). Look for reviews of books, movies, music, and games from my 4th grader, 2nd grader, and me (the mom). More content will be posted soon.
Take care,
Vicky
